    The Department of Accounting and Finance of the Technological Educational Institute of Western Macedonia was founded in June 2013 by merging the Department of Accounting and the Department of Financial Applications (Government Gazette 130/5-6-2013, issue A). that were separate departments until then.

    The new department's curriculum is in accordance with the respective foreign universities curricula and puts specific emphasis on the applications of the covered theoretical knowledge.

    The main goal of the Department is to supply the Greek market with specialized graduates capable of meeting the needs of both the public and the private sector in the field of accounting, management and financial applications.
